All the little details

We're gearing up for a couple of months (maybe more) of what I am fondly calling "transitional living". In other words, we will be living like nomads. Should be interesting! It will definitely be something we haven't experienced yet at this point in our lives. We will be moving out of our current house (that we are renting) mid-May, and be staying in someone else's home for a couple of months.

We are already sorting and packing our belongings. A huge portion of it is going to be sold or given away, so it will be a big change for us all, but especially Olivia. We're honestly excited about being given the opportunity to sort of "clear out" a lot of things we've been holding onto that aren't necessities. It is amazing how in almost six years of marriage we have accumulated a TON of stuff.

We will sort out the things we need to take with us, and pack them in rubbermaid bins, to be brought via airplane, with us (and other people) when we fly down. Soon we will be posting photos on craigslist and facebook of all the larger items that we have to sell. Since we have wonderful friends and family that have offered us a place to stay, we can go ahead and sell all of our furniture now. That is a huge blessing - and we thank God for their generosity and hospitality!!

Here's a short list of prayer needs for the upcoming week or so:

• Health - it has been 3 weeks since we were all healthy. Thankfully we haven't all been sick at the same time, but it has taken a toll on our family. We're exhausted from taking care of each other around the clock.
• House - Our house in Arlington is in the final stages of the short-sale process. All that remains is a final approval from our second mortgage, and an actual closing. We got this far in the process last August, and the week of closing, the buyer backed out. Please pray with us that this sale will go through!!
• Financial - We have a lot of atypical expenses coming up over the next several months. Please pray that we will be good stewards of what God has given us, and that we will make wise decisions about the timing of things that need to be purchased or sold.
• Faith - Please pray that our faith will be strengthened during this time of change. We have already seen God provide for our needs so many times, yet we still struggle with anxiety and fear. Pray that we will be able to relax, trust God, and enjoy this time of growing closer to Him. After all, He is the One who has called us to this new life, and He will show us the way. May we always remember that!!
